Week 9 #Project365 – 2014

As today is March 1st the first thing to say is – Dydd Gwyl Dewi hapus!

We’ve had a busy week this week. We had Ashley last Sunday and had a good walk out in the countryside.
On other walks this week we’ve seen lots of spring flowers, daisies, clendines, primroses and daffodils.

Orange Wednesday this week was Hubby’s choice – The Monuments Men. Whilst not a bad film it’s really not good either. It took too long to get going and doesn’t seem to be able to decide whether it’s a drama or comedy – on both counts it fails. It constantly needs to tell you the reason for the mission – to save artwork don’t you know!! George Clooney just plays himself – he doesn’t seem capable of actually convincing you he’s anyone other than himself.
But the thing that got me the most is a major mistake in the film – I’m not an expert but when a French man in France opens a hanger to reveal a bi-plane you don’t expect said bi-plane to be British registered.

We looked after Ashley again on Friday and Saturday. On Friday we played with blocks, did some colouring and played Cbeebies on my tablet. His favourite is bubble popping.

On Saturday we did the weekly shop  and went to the park for a run about. You can read more on our ‘Out and About’ antics here if you wish.

orange wednesday, playtime, springThe pictures here:

  • Primroses and Daffodils – seen on our countryside walks.
  • Camelia bud – they are getting bigger every day and this one is showing some colour.
  • Ashley – enjoying a ride in Morrisons, popping bubbles – multitasking – biscuit in one hand, popping with the other! Spinning wheels laden with stickle bricks, getting tied up in a rope hanging from a fence near the park.
  • Orange Wednesday.

#Project365 14/52

I’ve had a better week this week. It’s been freezing cold here in the UK but at least its been dry and sunny.

Monday saw the arrival of my bag from Next. I had also ordered a gold bag and a leather kindle case that came on Thursday.

The Daffodil was growing in a pot in our village square. It looks so pretty in the sun and proof that spring / summer is actually here even if it doesn’t feel like it!

The next 3 shots are from our trip to Gloucester on Friday.  I had taken a few shots in the city and the spike is at the Quays. The other 2 shots were taken from the car via the ‘Hi-Speed’ burst setting on my camera. It takes several shots in quick succession, ideal when you or the subject is moving.  The beach is not actually a beach – it a stretch of sand along the River Severn near Newnham.
Lastly a picture of the Grandson when he and his Daddy popped in on Saturday.

Oh and I’ve had a play with the theme of the blog.. The post titles, header and the sidebar have all changed.. what do you think?? Like it / Loathe it ? Anything you’d change? Leave a comment to let me know..

#Project366 Last Week

Ok here I am again catching up!

It’s a busy time of year if you are a ‘Comper’ – December heralds the onset of Advent Competitions. OMG there are loads of them! You have to be pretty ruthless and choose the ones you want to enter but also remember that the ones needing effort are more likely to have low entry levels so this type are always worth doing!!
My spreadsheet is listing over 200 daily competitions at the moment and there are also the ‘normal’ competitions to get on with too.. Plus all the lovely high value ITV ones!

My general mood at the moment is improving greatly after a rather testing 2 weeks. It all kicked off when looking for a present for YS who is in Australia and it’ll be the first christmas we’ll not be seeing him. His brother (oldest son) is missing him so much – they are very close- and it upset me to know that he too wanted him home for Christmas.  I really thought I was heading down that dark depression road again but I’m managing to hold it off at the moment.

I know some people go very long times not seeing their loved ones, either because they are now living away or in the forces. For whatever reason I hope your loved ones are safe and well and you’ll get to see them soon.

Here is a selection from the past week.
340/366 Grandson after rummaging my handbag and finding my sunglasses.
