Week 31 #Project365 – 2014

Slow and quiet week for us. Didn’t go far and didn’t do very much.

Sunday – A second night of the neighbour’s security light shining through our windows and coming on at the slightest breath of air. He put it up on Friday and then went away on Saturday.. fortunately he came back on Sunday afternoon. Hubby popped over to tell him about the light and he was up and down the ladders from around 9;30 until 11pm! He eventually got the timer right and pointed the light down.. Phew thank goodness!!

Monday – a visit to the hospital for Hubby for a routine test.

Tuesday – a tidy up and washed the kitchen down. Cooker, cabinets, tiles, worktops, floor all done. Takes some time to do (I have a BIG kitchen!)
I made Toad in Hole for tea and was impressed with how much it rose.. looked more like toad in the sinkhole!! The dish is about 2 inches deep and it was easily 3 to 4 inches above the rim!

Wednesday – Orange Wednesday this week was Hercules. Some of the reviews were mixed, saying it couldn’t make up it’s mind if it’s an action film or a comedy. I could see what they meant, it is full of action but there are some funny lines that cut through the drama. At first it feels unnecessary but it just becomes part of the film.  On the whole it is an enjoyable romp.

Thursday/Friday trundled about the house, catching up on competitions and reviewing our finances. BORING!!!

Saturday – A celebratory lunch out with our best friends. From the first day they moved to their new house, nearly two years ago, they’ve been pestered in one way and another by their neighbours and it all resulted in a court case and an ASBO being granted against the neighbours. If it had been happening to us I’d have been sectioned by now!

#Project365 week 29 day 3 – Number

Actually today should be – Inspirational but the plan for it didn’t materialise so I went on to the next daily prompt of ‘Number’.

It would have easy to take a picture of a number but I didn’t want easy.. as I sat on the garden bench eating lunch I was enjoying seeing how much the garden has flourished in the warm hot weather.  This is when I noticed how many of the flowers are actually made up of smaller blooms to make the whole flower head.

These are flowerheads looking spectacular at the moment.

Pink – Spirea, White – Dog Wood, Green/pink – Hydrangea

What sort of flowers are in your garden? Are any of them made up of a NUMBER of smaller blooms?

We started the week with a visit to Bridgend Outlet.  The visit was for nothing special, just a few hours out.  We had Ashley to look after too so thought the trip out would be exciting for him too.
Of course he ended up with some goodies too – two new t-shirts from Next outlet. We headed to the kids area where there is slides and climbing areas but it was a bit overwhelming for the little man! He preferred sitting in the toy rally car and had fun trying to steer it.

Although there wasn’t much in the way of new shoots in the garden last week, the warmer weather (well I say warmer but what I meant was that the temperature was at last in double figures!!) seems to have kick started a few shoots now and bought out some flowers.

The last picture is of reflections of some sparkles on a shirt I was wearing that shone on the car lining – I can see a face, can you??

Next week I’ll be posting some pictures of my son’s wedding that’s taking place on Thursday. We are all getting very excited! The long-range forecast says it’s going to be dry so that’s a comfort! It will be even better if they said a bit of sun!

280/366 & 281/366 #Project366

Ok I know they are a week late…been lazy and had lots on my mind this week.

First up – Postie bought latest album from The Script -#3.  I love these guys, I first got into them after their single ‘The man who can’t be moved
Their first self named album was a mix of genres but the second and now #3 have seen them settle into their own sound.  We’re going to see them in Birmingham in March 2013. Hope we’re not the oldest ones there!!!

Next – the hydrangea has started to get it’s autumn coat on.

209/366 Grey Hydrangea?

I forgot I had downloaded the Powercam App on my iPod and rediscovered it yesterday after it popped up for an update.  I took a few photos of my hydrangea.

The picture of day is this one that uses the colour splash feature. By picking the green leaves it washes out all other colour making the flowers grey. I wouldn’t mind it looking this.. What do you think?

Colour splash focused on green leaves

Here are some others I took using the colour splash, swirl and colour explosion. (oh and I’ve learned how to exclude the above from the gallery.. Go Me!!!
