Week 2 #Project365 – 2014

This week has been a week of ups and downs!

On Monday we spent time disconnecting the dishwasher and sorting out the fridge ready for them both to be taken away on Tuesday when our new ones arrived.
Tuesday came and the delivery men arrived with the new dishwasher and fridge. Hubby went around to the garage to get some recycling bags and when he opened the back door it started flapping about – 2 of the hinges had split in half!! It had got a bit stiff from the wind and rain over the past few weeks but we didn’t expect it to fall off! Luckily I took out Home Emergency cover with our home insurance, a quick phone call to them and a repairer was notified. He arrived at 4pm and refitted the back door.
After giving the dishwasher a quick wash to make sure it wasn’t leaking hubby pushed it into position under the worktop.  I was so glad to see the back of Tuesday!

Wednesday – and our new DAB radio arrived – I looked online over the weekend for one and we were debating whether to get a radio/ipod dock/speaker instead but decided against it in the end as it would be too much of a faff for my technophobe hubby.  I found a Pure Elan II half price on Debenhams. So the refusal of price matching last week did us a favour in the end!

We put the dishwasher on for it’s first full load, the water filled and after 5 minutes an error came up on the panel – the error referred to the waste pipe. Hubby pulled out the dishwasher and there we found what was wrong – when he pushed the dishwasher into its space he crushed the waste pipe. I’m so glad now that I took out an extended warranty that also covered accidental cover! I called Bosch and they sent an engineer to fix it on Thursday.  It’s working ok now!

Not much happened on Thursday and Friday.

Saturday – the weather is bright and sunny, such a change from the dire rain and wind we’ve had the past few weeks. This meant that we could take Ashley to the park for a good run about.  He also had a little go on his balance bike, he’s still a bit unsure of it but at least he sat on it this time! It was great getting out in the fresh air after dodging the rain in the past few weeks.

how wonderful to have a new dishwasher and fridge arriving, i almost feel excited for you! we enjoyed a lovely sunny and fairly wamr day at last today too and we also took advantage of it by visiting the park. Ashley will soon get the hang of the balance bike – both of my boys have had one and although it took them a little while to get used to it, B was cycling a pedal bike before he was 3 and I think J is not far behind x x
